When I’m old, so old that strangers get out of their cars to help me cross the street, I want to do a lot and a little all at once.
I want to garden. I want to paint. I want to read for hours. I want to bake. I want to journal in hopes of someone else finding it interesting 40 years later. I want to spend time with my family and watch my grandchildren grow, meanwhile giving them hilarious memories for a lifetime.
But there’s something I have long realized: If you don’t do anything of the kind right now, you will probably not do it later either. And tomorrow is never promised so why not start today, now?!
The thing I am doing now, which I have always put off in the past, is painting. Besides writing, I’ve always like to doodle and painting is such a great release for me.
