Happy Sunday!
I’m up a little early before I must get ready for church, so I wanted to post a little update.
Yesterday we went to a gender reveal party for my brother in law and his wife and we learned their baby will be a boy! (sorry-not-sorry for the click-bait)
A lot of people, myself included thought it would be a girl, but we are all excited and overjoyed at the idea of a new baby that the sex didn’t really matter in the end. I’m so excited to be an auntie (again)!
My day started early and I baked a rum cake (per her request for her guests not her of course) and then we were off to help decorate for the event.
My sister in law carved out this cute baby in a carriage with an idea from Pinterest, which I never saw before she told me about it. I think it turned out really well! If I ever made this, I’d probably make hair out of spiraled beets or something.
My brother-in-law (daddy to be) spent 12 hours smoking pork shoulders and all the food was so good!
I’ll have to request the recipe for the pasta salad from my mother in law, which was really tasty too (no mayo, with roasted vegetables). I’ll post the on my food blog once I have it.
We all learned the sex of the baby by simultaneously biting into a cupcake. The cream filling was colored blue for a baby boy!
I think everyone is just happy to KNOW since mom and dad have known for a couple of weeks now. We were all just anxious and excited. These cupcakes were from Publix and they tasted so good!
I think the whole experience is really memorable (and emotional!), but I don’t think I could handle keeping the news from anyone for longer than 3 seconds so a gender reveal party probably won’t be in our future.
Have you ever been to or hosted a gender reveal party? How did you announce the baby’s gender?
Awww, this is all just so cool! My babies are old enough to have their own babies–and boy, do I wish they would! I would love to throw a gender-reveal party for a grandbaby-to-be! Believe it or not, my gender reveal happened in the delivery room. (Luckily, the horse & buggy got me there on time… LOL!) My OBGYN felt an ultrasound was unnecessary. So much easier to get gifts for a baby when you know whether it’s a girl or boy!
So exciting! We did our gender reveal with little cakes for our twins:) congrats on your nephew!
Awwww that’s such a cute idea! I’m so happy for your family!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
That’s excatly what I did with the cupcakes, it was such a cute idea! Ps the food looks so good Is making me hungry.
